On Sunday, June 21, the Vadino family suffered a devastating loss and any donations to help defray their costs going forward would be sincerely appreciated.

"Rescue crews began searching the waters of Little Beaver Creek in Willow Grove Park about 6 p.m. Sunday after Garrett Vadino, 10, fell into the water.
According to Lisbon Police Chief Mike Abraham, the boy’s father, Todd Vadino, and Bonar attempted to rescue the boy. Todd Vadino drowned in the attempt, and emergency workers pulled Bonar from the river. A medical helicopter flew Bonar to Akron Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 11 p.m., Abraham said.
Two former Navy Seals, enlisted by the boy’s family to help in the search, recovered Garrett Vadino’s body about 2:45 a.m. Monday.
According to Abraham, witnesses said that the three had been kayaking Sunday and were cleaning up after they had finished when Garrett Vadino reportedly fell into the water. Bonar reportedly jumped in to save the boy, and then Todd Vadino jumped in to save both of them.
Abraham said life jackets were found on the shore. He said he believes the jackets were used while the three were kayaking.
Leetonia Schools Superintendent Rob Mehno said Monday that Garrett Vadino had just finished fourth grade at Leetonia Elementary and was heading to middle school in the fall. The district is offering counseling at their campus at 450 Walnut St. in Leetonia to any students who want it Monday from 12 to 3 p.m. and again, Tuesday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to Mehno.
