Holt Family

On Thursday, March 23rd, Jason Holt had a blood clot that traveled to his brain and caused a massive stroke. He was taken to Carle Hospital for care. After doing a CT Scan, it was determined that Jason needed to be under the care of a neurologist interventionist. The closest one they could get him to is in Springfield, Illinois. They wanted to life line him to Memorial Hospital in Springfield but, due to an incoming storm, they had to transport him by ambulance. Due to the swelling and pressure on his brain, they inserted a Ventriculostomy to monitor the pressure on his brain. He currently has lost all function of his left side. Jason will be at Springfield Hospital for at least 14 days and then he will need to be in a long-term facility for rehabilitation due the damage on his brain. Jason does not have short-term disability, therefore will have no income. Jason and Nichole have two boys, Peyton who is 14 and Emmitt who is 11. Both boys are very active in sports and extra curricular activities. Nichole will need to be off work for an extended amount of time to care for Jason as well. Nichole will need help with medical bills and day to day activities for the boys. As most people are aware, Jason has a huge heart for the children & families in our community, volunteering for the past several years as a coach for youth football and wrestling. He also served as the President of our youth wrestling club for 5 years. For a person that has given so much of himself for the betterment of others, his friends & family are hopeful that the community will come together once again & take care of one of their own.
