Xena's Cancer Surgery Fund
Don protégé
Friends, I need your help.
It took me a while to write this only because anyone who knows me knows my heart: Xena. I was afraid it would stir up too many emotions; but I’ve been learning so much along this journey and one is to trust the incredible community that God has provided for me to walk this season alongside me.
I adopted Xena from the Tampa Humane Society at 3 months old and she has been my road dawg ever since then. Literally, Xena and I are connected: Her name when I adopted her was actually DIANNA! I’ll share our story another time. For now; know this:
Xena is my baby girl.
2 weeks ago, I found out that Xena has a cancerous tumor on her liver. It’s called a “Massive Hepatocellular Carcinoma.” The tumor grew over the past 6 months since her last ultrasound she received to check her liver function.
For this reason of it appearing so quickly, her team of veterinarians are certain that surgery is necessary for Xena’s quality of life and want to ensure the tumor is removed before it has a chance to spread.
I thought it was a no brainer to get surgery, until they told me the cost: $10,000.
My heart dropped because I have no way of coming up with that in such a short amount of time in which she needs to have it done (2-4 weeks).
They explained that the surgery includes a cat-scan to be sure it hasn't spread, removal of the tumor, testing of the tumor and spleen once it's removed, and two days of hospital stay following the surgery.
This is why I’m reaching out to you, friends. If you are able to support financially, I would truly appreciate your help. If not financially, and you know some other means, please do not hesitate to share. If you have no knowledge or finances to help - or even if you do - I’m asking for your prayers through this journey.
Thank you.
We love you,
Diana & Xena
