Breast cancer stage 3 recovery

May 29, 2023

Hello and greetings to Everyone who has been a part of my Breast Cancer and personal journey.... A short while ago (on May 13 to be exact... I've become afflicted with stress induced room spinning dizzy spells; the second of which caused me to fall on and against the wall and onto my 12-string guitar... puncturing a hole and cracks into the body of it rendering it unplayable.

Of course this is all at time, when I've just started to be invited to play at small gatherings for tips and preparing a repertoire for future invites... I do have a 6-string that was so graciously given to me a few weeks prior to the start of my dizzy spells; I've got it all turned up... but I am still missing the full sound and comfort of my 12-string...

I need to raise funds for the repair or eventual replacement of my 12-string instrument.

My medical team has invited me to come play and sing for them and their patients. I would so love to do that as soon as my 12-string guitar is repaired!

My playing and singing has become a part of my breast cancer and personal journey recovery! Also, my photography at flickr.com/photos/leamiller is also a potential revenue source.

Someone also suggested starting a blog site to share my experiences and readings as a revenue source.

Time will tell as I believe God our Father has been leading me and opening doors in the most unexpected ways to share my Faith and talents with others.

I hope that you will be moved to contribute or to pass this info on to others who are in the position to assist with the costs of repairing my guitar!

My prayers and thoughts go out to you and I am striving to update and to communicate with those of you I have a bond with.

Love, smiles, laughter and prayers,

Leanora

Just a quick update as there is a lot of emotional turmoil happening behind the scenes that cannot be explained right now, but I would ask for your support and prayers for my husband living in Chilliwack, on his own with no means of any support from anywhere.

Though I am now subsidized for some expenses under the MB social assistance program, and residing with family, it does not cover the extras like cell phone and bus transportation.

Deciding to live apart from my husband was the hardest decision I've ever had to make despite going through breast cancer chemo treatments and surgery and continued recovery. There are no words to describe the emotional pain and suffering my husband and I have gone through and continue to do so.

This is the update for now. Thank you for your support and prayers!

Leanora

Greetings and Happy Spring!

It's a beautiful day and I'm so thankful to God to be alive, living without cancer in my body but continuing with immunotherapy treatments every three weeks! Side effects continue to be numbness, tingling and pain in my finger tips and feets. My balance is wonky and always have to be careful how I step.

The EI sick benefits have expired and am in the process of applying for Social Assistance benefits. This will take time as I have a short list of documents to provide. In the meantime there are expenses to try and cover, rent, food, cell phone and a monthly bus pass.

As always, Blessings to those of you who have contributed in the past or still can and if you could forward this message to anyone you know who may be in the position to assist!

Working on developing my Flickr photography page (flickr.com/photos/leamiller) and exploring artist consignment projects.

Will provide more details in my next update!

Sincerest heartfelt thanks!

Leanora

Greetings!

The week coming up continues with my immunotherapy treatment, which will be a double dose on Wednesday. This post-chemotherapy treatment continues for another seven sessions. As time goes on, I will find out what medicines will be covered and what medicines will have to be paid out of pocket. But I am still just thrilled and so thankful to our Loving Father; to be cancer-free without the radiation treatment.

In the meantime and without disclosing the finer details, my hubby and I conversed this evening and he has been able to obtain the car from the sheriff's dept and is temporarily housed in our rental BC and with our dog Shae. The sheriff moved all our belongings into a storage unit which has a balance of $130; in order to gain access. So James was left with just the clothes on his back, the dog and the car. We both have no sources of income for any of the immediate costs to be paid right now. Cell phone, storage locker, gas for the car, dog food and J's groceries. Though we are separated, and I left BC; I still love J and cannot ignore the basic needs for J and Shae.

If our story could be shared with others; in the position to help out a difficult situation, with God's blessing, it would be very much appreciated.

Will continue to post updates as our situation develops! I thank you for your time reading and sharing!

With positive thoughts, prayerfully

Leanora

April 4, 2023

Hello and greetings!

It has been a while since my last update as much has happened as I do my best to navigate. With the help of my family and friends; I made the extremely tough decision to leave BC and return to Winnipeg to continue my cancer care and to ensure treatment and to ensure I had a place to stay as I am not currently covered under any financial government assistance programs as they are under review and my social assistance intake appt is not til the end of this month. I would love to be able to contribute to my current living arrangement while residing with my wonderful daughter!

My husband, who is still in BC, is also greatly affected, beyond words and is no longer covered under any financial government assistance programs. As of today, he is undergoing the most tumultuous upheaval with turning over our possessions from the rental property to the bailiff, the car to the repo man and the dog was taken to a shelter. At the moment, I am not sure what the answer is to help, but certainly, donations would be greatly appreciated.

On another note; my mom is in the care of and resides at an assistive living home and I have been asked to find her some clothes that fit her, I've put the word out and may need to find some things for her also at the local thrift stores. They've recommended XL. She is doing not too badly, considering she does suffer from dementia. I've been bringing her small potted plants and flowers to gradually fill her room with greenery!

A lot more details I could share, but for now, just know that I've always appreciated the help that has previously come through gofundme and I thank God for your generosity and will do my best to continue staying positive no matter what lies ahead!

Blessings to you all!

Leanora

NOVEMBER 14, 2023

My cancer journey update! Still so ever thankful that there is now no cancer cells in my body! God has healed my body of the cancer growth and is leading me on a journey to help others! Though I must continue on medication to help with my immune system... I know that God is overseeing these procedures!

In the meantime... we are also contending with finding housing in this unaffordable market. Though we are on assistance wirh a monthly stipend of $1500... even the social workers ask how are we going to make ends meet!! Good question! With a little help from family and friends and others out there perhaps looking for a situation where the contribution is closer to home! One day at a time... one dollar at a time!

Thank you for however you wish to help with either prayers or financial contributions!

Most sincerely and blessings to you!

Leanora

So now with everything we're contending with, Sept 25, I tested positive for Covid and under quarantine for the max and next chemo session is now set for Oct 17. Symptoms are a nasty deep cough, fever, aches, chills and headache.... and on stand by to go to hospital if fever continues. Our tenancy issue is dire.. we must find a place somehow, someway with a very limited source of income by Oct 20, (tenancy dispute date and determination of tenancy timeline) With everything going on in the world my problems don't seem so bad, but the reality is still very critical. Hope you can help or know someone who can. Thank you so much for your visit and may God bless you!

Hello, my name is Leanora Miller, I am 57, mom of two beautiful grown children and have been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, I am in my third treatment of chemo. I am on limited benefits, and in a tenancy battle with the landlord of our current residence and we do need to find a new residence asap. My hubby has been laid off and is seeking contract work and we're hoping to raise funds to help get through this crisis. I know there are so many in the world in a far worse position than I am. If this message can reach anyone who can help, please know that I am willing to assist in anyway I can to pay it forward, with contact support, prayers and love.

There is so much I want to share with the world with my music, art and photography and to be able to help and serve others. I am thankful and pray for the strength to take it one day at a time!
