Valentina’s Surgery

Valentina Murillo is 7 years old and was born with Spina Bifida. This condition occurs when the spine and the spinal cord don’t form properly. Although she had surgery at birth and is growing at a slow rate, her spinal cord is protruding and now requires additional surgery.

Valentina has also developed Hydrocephalus. This causes the buildup of fluid in ventricles deep within her brain. The fluid increases the size of the ventricles and puts pressure on the brain causing her head to swell.

Her mother Lizeth is sole provider and is unable to work as Valentina requires around the clock care.

The out of pocket expense is estimated to be $3000 and would cover her surgery, hospital stay and medications.
