Fighting For My Family

My husband is a former police officer. He was one of the first responders on 9/11 in NYC. This is a decorated officer who has dedicated his whole life to helping others and now he is in need of help. We are also in the process of getting him testing through the WTC health program for possible toxic poisoning due to his exposure on 9/11. He has been out of work since June. He has spent a week in the psych ward due to PTSD with Psychosis. We have 3 small children. Ages 11,7,&4. The bills are piling up and we cannot get him any benefits. SS is 8 months behind in even looking at applications. I am writing to senators and governors to try to speed this all up. The system is broken. I have spent countless hours fighting this fight for him and still getting nowhere. We have spent this week in and out of the ER because his head hurts so bad and he can’t breathe. Still no answers. More bills with no insurance. We are a family in need of help. He has sacrificed his whole life to help others and now he needs help. Any little bit will help our family. Thank you.
