Una lapide per Beppe

Il nostro caro amico Beppe non c'è più, ci ha lasciati lo scorso 23 Febbraio 2024.

Oltre al dolore per la sua perdita abbiamo, nostro malgrado, dovuto assistere alla sepoltura civile che lo Stato assegna a chi non ha disponibilità economiche per permettersi un rito funebre, dichiarandolo “indigente”.

Alcuni operai hanno eseguito il loro lavoro nel minor tempo possibile, senza lasciare spazio nemmeno ai famigliari di assistere al momento della sepoltura, una sepoltura anonima, senza riferimenti, senza lapide, senza nome. Una fossa in mezzo ad altre fosse di persone senza possibilità.

Beppe non era cristiano, forse non avrebbe nemmeno voluto essere sepolto in un cimitero ma non ha avuto scelta e noi amiche e amici che siamo rimasti non possiamo accettare che il suo corpo se ne stia lì nel Cimitero monumentale del Vantiniano di Brescia senza nemmeno un nome o una foto che lo identifichi.

Per questo stiamo cercando di trovare i fondi per fargli fare una lapide con il suo nome inciso e una sua foto, come ogni essere umano che ha vissuto in questa terra e che viene sepolto in un cimitero meriterebbe, per non essere dimenticato e per non svanire sotto terra.

Beppe non ha avuto una vita facile, ma nonostante tutto ha sempre lottato e affrontato le difficoltà con il sarcasmo che lo contraddistingueva. Vogliamo rendergli omaggio con questo gesto di solidarietà, di amicizia.

Our dear friend Beppe is no longer with us, he left us on February 23, 2024. Apart from the pain of his loss, we, unfortunately, had to witness the civil burial that the Italian State provides for those who do not have the financial means to afford a funeral, declaring him "indigent".

Some workers carried out their work as quickly as possible, not even allowing family members to be present at the burial, making it an anonymous burial with no references, no gravestone, and no name. A grave amidst others of people without means.

Beppe was not Christian, perhaps he wouldn't have even wanted to be buried in a cemetery, but he had no choice. We, his remaining friends, cannot accept that his body is there in the monumental cemetery of Vantiniano in Brescia without even a name or a photo to identify him.

That's why we are trying to raise funds to have a gravestone made with his name engraved and a photo of him, like any human being who has lived on this earth and is buried in a cemetery deserves, in order not to be forgotten and to not fade away underground.

Beppe did not have an easy life, but despite everything, he always fought and faced difficulties with the sarcasm that characterized him. We want to pay tribute to him with this gesture of solidarity, of friendship.
