It is not easy for us to ask for help, however Paul's recent prostate cancer diagnosis and loss of employment has put us in a predicament. During a recent routine physical it was found that his PSA level was 5.1 . Biopsy confirmed cancer, with a gleason score of 7. The good news is that the cancer is contained solely to the prostate which makes him eligible for the HIFU treatment.
This treatment is approved by the FDA but not covered by any insurance. Paul's surgeon, Dr. Stephen Scionti in, Sarasot, Fla. is a leader in this treatment. This is a one time treatment , which eliminates the need for 45 consecutive days of radiation treatments, and has far less chance of life changing side effects.
