Andre Needs Your Support!

At age 56, Andre McCoy’s life was thrown a curve ball. In 2013, he was diagnosed with a heart block. In 2014 he was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy, then in 2016, he was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis. After three pacemakers, an L-VAD heart pump, and a mild stroke, a heart transplant is his only hope for survival. He has always been the guy to call when you’re in need of a helping hand. Now he needs our help more than ever.

Andre grew up in Berkeley and Pittsburg, California. You may know Andre from AT&T where he worked for 24 years as a Professional Technical Project Manager. You may also remember him as Coach Andre from St. Ignatius Church CYO for his daughter Angel’s basketball team. Perhaps you’ve met him through his wife Darla, or daughters Brittney and Andrea. Together, Andre and his family are committed to seeing him through this transplant. However, they face a challenge they cannot meet alone.

Transplants are life-saving but financially draining. Even with insurance Andre is facing very high out-of-pocket expenses including relocation for two months to be within 20 minutes of UCSF Hospital in San Francisco, post-transplant medications and treatments, co-pay deductibles, and clinic visits. These costs could top $20,000!
