Together we fight cancer

There will be times in life when you need to reach out to loved ones for help… Today I am doing this for a dear friend.

 On May 24th 2015, Daniel Silva was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. We were all completely shocked because he's the healthiest person we know. He should have went for emergency surgery right away, but did not have insurance and had to wait for the response from charity care.

June 11th, the surgery to remove the tumor was performed.  Danny is now doing well and is in good spirits but unfortunately, we found out today that his cancer may have spread. When Danny and Erica went for his check up they were notified that one of his abdominal lymph nodes was swollen (which indicates the possible spread of cancer) and he might need to embark on three or more cycles of Chemotherapy or Radiation, depending on if it has spread to the lymphatic system.

Danny does not have medical insurance but was approved for charity care which covers basic care including the emergency surgery he needed. Doctors need to perform a PET scan, which charity care normally does not provide but doctors are working on getting him approved for it. 

 Unfortunately, Danny was out of work with no pay for some time during surgery/recovery and will also have time off of work if Chemotherapy or Radiation are needed for his complete recovery.

We don't want him to worry about maybe having to cancel his wedding plans coming up Sept 20, 2015 so your donations will be used towards any medical expense that is not covered by charity care. It will also be used to help pay for Fertility Preservation at a sperm bank. (There is a high chance of becoming sterile from the cancer treatments, so the doctors highly recommend freezing your sperm if you plan on having children.)

It’s been through the support of family, friends, and co-workers that we have gracefully made it through this difficult time thus far.
 
If you are able to help at all (every $1 counts),  it would be immensely appreciated. Going through this difficult time knowing that Danny has the support of family and friends will be essential in our fight against cancer.

If doctors allow him to go, money will not be used in Vegas for his bachelor party coming up lol ;)

So, let's help our dearest, caring, humorous, loving friend know that he is not fighting this battle alone!!!!
