In need of a stair lift

Donation protected
Hi. It’s me! Patrick!
For those that know me know I HATE asking for help! But I’ve also learned, that sometimes I just can’t do things myself.

On Tuesday, July 5th, I’m having my right leg amputated below the knee, making me a bilateral amputee. While I’ll eventually get into a prosthetic leg, it seems things have changed regarding the insurance side of things. It seems as if I need to be 7 months to a year post surgery, before I can get into a check socket (temporary prosthetic leg). The reasoning is because the shape of your stump can change drastically after surgery, and many times amputees will try to get 2-3 different prosthetics because they no longer fit.

Anyway, I’m gonna need a way to get up and down my stairs. Hopping is gonna be tough, as hopping using a prosthetic is tough. Crawling will prove to be tough as it’ll be hard to get to an upright position. This is where I’m asking for help.

I’m looking to get a stairlift. This will allow me to get up and down the stairs with ease. Also, it will help my mom as the stairlift can be used to transfer laundry up and down.

Insurance doesn’t cover the cost of a stairlift, and I just don’t have the money to afford it. Any help would be so much appreciated. I really HATE asking for help in this way, but I don’t know what else to do.

Love you guys.
