My name is Sarah, I am raising funds to get my baby nephew, David, home to Northern Ireland. Our family's case has been reported by UTV and BBC Northern Ireland. David was taken from his mother, Catherine, with threats and intimidation during a holiday to visit his paternal family in Lebanon in August 2022. His mother, my sister, fought through the High Court to have David brought back to Belfast where he was born and where the court has ruled he must be returned. Out of desperation to see her baby son and following promises that she would be permitted to bring David home if she would go to Lebanon, she travelled there in January 2024. David was not returned to her, instead he was taken from her again, this time with further threats of extreme violence and a brutal physical assault. David is still only 2 years old and has been separated from his mother for far too long. His father and the whole paternal family have cut off contact; we do not know where David is and every day without him is painful and devastating. Lebanon is a very dangerous place now. The security situation in the Middle East is escalating and is nothing to do with David. He is a baby and he needs to be returned home.
The High Court rulings are necessary to protect David's legal rights in the UK. The process, however, is costly and entirely self funded. This is where we need help- to continue the fight, to pursue David's best interests, his legal rights and to return him home to where he belongs. Your generosity is so greatly appreciated.
