Matthew's Medical Fund

Matthew was in a serious car accident on Thursday afternoon and had to be extricated from the vehicle by fire and rescue. He  was flown to Rochester where he was admitted to St. Mary's Hospital for emergency surgery. He has had two surgeries since being admitted to the hospital. One surgery to remove his spleen and another to repair his bowel. He has left forearm fractures, broken right wrist, spinal fractures and a broken left femur. He has had pins placed in his left femur to repair the badly broken bones.

Along with the broken bones, he also has a partially collapsed lung, bruised and lacerated kidneys as well as lacerations on his liver. He is presently intubated to aid in removing the gases from his blood. The doctors are waiting for his kidneys to begin to remove enough fluid so that they can remove his breathing tube. He lost a lot of blood (about half) and had to have lots of blood replaced. Many thanks to all those who donate blood!
