This is being done on behalf of my son, Jalon. He was nominated by his teacher Mr. Cary , from Achievement First Charter School to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF). This is to explore STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math), which would be held next summer.
This program is designed on setting career SMART goals.
It allows him to expand his creativity and critical thinking from engineering stimulation; such as Robotics designs, and programming challenge.
Explore Medicine and Healthcare during an emergency , for example diagnosing and providing critical care; including conducting physical exams, administering splints and slings, and controlling external hemorrhaging.
There's also a Lab session of his thinking process and Mission to Mars project.
He'll also be learning the role of forensic science in investigation, and applying finger print examination, blood stain analysis, while using proper techniques to a crime scene. Also learning the basics of civil engineering, and structual designs.
Jalon is very interested ,and looking forward to attending this program to gain a stronger understanding , while acquiring hands-on experience using technology, with regards to choosing his career path, and his future in college and life.
The donations received will cover his housing, program activities, curriculum materials, breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.
The funds is needed by December 13, 2017 to ensure a spot in the program.
