Welcome to our fundraiser for the GEANCO Foundation in honour of Daisy Ridley!
As many of you know, the Star Wars fandom made an incredible gesture for Daisy's Co-star, Adam Driver, and his charity Art in the Armed Forces. We wanted to do something in honour of Daisy as a way of thanking her for her incredible portrayal of Rey, a character who we have fallen in love with over the past 5 years. Although some fans have been disappointed with the ending for Rey, we wanted to turn this negative energy into something positive and thank one of our favourite actresses by donating to charity and improving the lives of those less fortunate than us this hiliday season.
The GEANCO Foundation was selected as it was Daisy's charity of choice for her Omaze campaign for The Rise of Skywalker. The charity's aim is to "save and transform the lives of the poor and vulnerable in Africa."
Any money will go towards their work in the region:
"We lead special surgical missions and run maternal and infant health programs in Nigeria. We also donate critical supplies to schools while providing life-changing scholarships to young female victims of terrorism and gender inequality."
