Wyatt's senior year in France!

I'm Wyatt Bradbury, I'm 16 and I am a junior in High School. I'm the son of a single mother and I am trying to go to France as a foreign exchange student for my senior year. I currently have a B average and am taking honors and AP classes. I was in AVID (Advance via Individual Determination) for three years and while I am no longer in AVID I have switched into Academic Decathalon because I wanted to challenge myself academically. Part of that academic challenge is my pursuit of the opportunity to go to France as a foreign exchange student for my senior year.
In America we take our tests to apply for college as juniors and in France they take theirs as seniors, so if I do go I'll be elligible to go to college in France which is my goal when I graduate. By the time I go I'll have completed my fourth year of french so I will know the language/culture and I will be knowledgable about the life I'll be leading during my time there. My class is currently taking part in a penpal program. The town that our penpals live in is only an hour away from Paris so it would be easy to meet my french penpal who I get along with really well. And because I have spent so much time studying the culture I know this is something I want to do and is not just something I have gotten interested in recently. I've wanted to go to France as a senior for almost a year and a half now and I have finally convinced my mother to let me go... I know it's something I'll regret if I am not able to go.
Since this goal is so important to me I'm asking my family not to buy me gifts for holidays, birthdays or money for report cards. I would prefer instead that they contribute those funds to this Go Fund Me account. Most of the programs for foreign exhange students need the money by January or February and cost thousands of dollars. My mother has agreed to contribute a large portion if I am able to help raise additional funds to make this an obtainable goal. Even the smallest donation could equal a life changing experience for me. If you are unable to donate, please help me spread the word with a share of this page.
