KYLIE'S FIGHT

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Shirley, and I am starting this GoFundMe page for Kylie McMullen and her parents, Sean and Kirsten McMullen. I work with Kylie's Oma, Wendy. This family is starting a fight that no parent or child should have to fight. Kylie likes to build legos, play video games with her Dad, make crafts with her mom (she even has her own Kylie's Craft Corner on facebook, please view it), playing with her Barbies and LOL dolls with her little sister Quinn, loves watching her favorite TV show Bluey, CookieSwirlC and A for Adley. But now, her entire life has changed overnight.

Kylie celebrated her 6th birthday on January 8th. The day after her birthday, her parents noticed a slight limp when she walked. Over the next several days, her limp worsened to the point that she had trouble walking more than a step or two. After several visits to different offices and seeing other doctors, her parents were encouraged to take Kylie to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh on February 10th for further evaluation.

After being admitted to the hospital, it was quickly determined that Kylie had a large amount of fluid on her left lung and a mass in her abdomen. She underwent procedures to drain the fluid and biopsy the mass. They also took bone marrow samples to determine if cancer had possibly spread. One week after being admitted to CHP, Kylie was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in her abdomen that had also begun to spread to other parts of her body (including in her bone marrow). The name of the cancer is stage 4 Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, which is a very rare cancer. Kylie’s treatment plan consists of 12-42 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh. Kylie will also likely require maintenance chemotherapy after the initial 12-42 weeks of treatment.

Kylie’s cancer will also require additional treatments throughout her treatment plan. Your donations are greatly appreciated and will be used to help Kylie as she fights to beat cancer.

All donations will go directly to the McMullen family to assist Kylie’s treatments, travel, and recovery.
The family has almost a two-hour drive to the hospital one way. Sean has taken a leave from work to stay by Kylie's side while Kirsten travels back and forth as they have two other children, ages 3 and 1. Sean is a school teacher and a coach and has given our children so much of his time. Please find it in your heart to help this family as they begin this fight. Please keep Kylie in your prayers. We thank you in advance for any donation you may be able to contribute.
