WWII Vet loses home to flood

Donation protected
On September 29, 2017, Alex C. and Emilia Romero from Belen, New Mexico lost their home due to two floods within the span of seven days.

Alex, who is a World War II Veteran and 90 years old, still runs a farm and provides for his 87-year-old wife.

Because their home has been deemed uninhabitable, we the family (daughter Carmen, youngest grandson Robert living nearby in Albuquerque, NM) are hoping to raise funds to assist Alex and Emilia in regaining a semblance of normalcy during this devastating time.

Costs would include demolition of the existing home, a new septic tank, manufactured home, foundation, and furnishings for the home.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated and will be given directly to the Romero family, along with all comments, prayers, well wishes, etc.

The articles below are from the local news, however an error was made in the first news story regarding the use of the daughter's married name, Mendoza, instead of the correct family name, Romero. Changes to the news article are pending.
