WWII Bench for Irlam in Memory of Trev & Elsie

Donation protected
We recently lost our Nan/Mum, known to many locally as Elsie.  Due to the current restrictions of COVID19 we were unable to give her the send-off she deserved or collect any donations for charity.  Therefore, as a family, we have decided to fundraise in the name of Elsie and her husband Trevor (who passed away back in 2017) for a World War 2 Memorial Bench to be situated inside the Cenotaph area in Irlam.

Trevor and Elsie were both very passionate about the Poppy Appeal locally, Trevor had collected for the appeal since the age of 14 right into his 90's.  With Trevor being a WWII Veteran the Cenotaph held a very poignant place in his heart and we feel that a WWII memorial bench situated inside the Cenotaph area would be a fitting tribute to both Trevor and Elsie and also provide the local community with somewhere to sit and take some quiet reflection.

The bench will be purchased from www.davidogilvie.com/  who are a specialist street, park, and memorial furniture company.  The total cost for the bench is £1300.00 including VAT and delivery.  Salford City Council will then arrange the installation of the bench at the Cenotaph and all this will hopefully be in time for this year's Remembrance Sunday.
