Mom's Cancer fund

I will apologize in advance for the picture you see above. That is a very old picture of my mother but due to her first round of chemo, she started loosing her hair and is very self concious.

Hi, I've never done something like a go fund me page before so the only thing i can think of doing is just laying it all out bare.

My mother was diagnosed with cancer on August the 15th. She had two large masses in her body. One in her chest near her right lung and one near her right kidney. Originally, doctors were already putting her at stage 4 before they had even gotten the biopsy on the mass near her lung back. Come to find out, the first biopsy didn't have a good enough sample and it wasn't viable. Later, she had a second biopsy and the doctors grabbed a lymphnode(thinking it had cancerous cells in it) rather than the mass. That test came back negative and not viable.

Around the time that they were going to do her third biopsy on the mass in her chest, the doctors wanted to go in and remove the mass near her right kidney as it wasn't attached.

So, near the end of August my mother went into surgery to have the mass removed. The surgery was far more complicated than anticipated. Unlike how the doctors originally thought, the mass (while not attached to her kidney) was attached and constricting her right ureter. Thus, rendering her right kidney un-usable. The mass was also attached loosely to her Vena cava. The surgery over all took almost three hours and she needed several doctors to help repair the damage that they were causing trying to remove said mass. They also had to remove her right kidney in this surgery.

Later, we recieved the results of the mass that was taken with her kidney. It was Leiomyosarcoma, a connective tissue- rapidly growing cancer. She had two masses and at this time the doctors said she had two leisions on her L3 and L4. Doctors prepared us for the worst. Then, she had a PET scan and one of out many worries was washed away, the leisions on her spine weren't cancerous.

However, the mass in her chest was, and they were still thinking she was in stage 4. Later, a third and final biopsy was done on the mass in the chest and they finally got results. My mother not only had Leiomyosarcoma, but she had a Thymoma in her chest as well.

Now that we knew the types of cancers she had, we could start treatment. Early in october, Mom started her first of three rounds of chemo. Just recently she finished her second round of chemo, and in 2 and a half weeks she starts her third and final treatment. After that, she has to go through the equivilent of openheart surgery to get her last mass out.

As far as treatment goes that is as far as i know of.

But, the reason i am starting a go fund me page, is because of the medical expenses. As much as my father wont admit it- they are waying heavily on us right not. Mom can't work at the moment due to her insecurity, the chemo making her feel absolutely horrid, and that she is always understandably drained. I just want to do something that will help them out a bit, be it for medical bills, regular bills, anything that they need to make it easier on themselves.
