About the Film:
Get ready to feel young love and the sting of rejection with Wurli. This is the debut film from the Philadelphia-based production company, WinMore Media, whose focus is surrealism and self-expression. With Wurli, WinMore seeks to present a visually stunning and thought-provoking piece that delves into the rose-colored glasses that often misguide lovers– And what happens when they come off. The film is currently planned to be made in 2023, and will embody the energy the company wishes to give to all future projects henceforth. Wurli will feel dreamy– like a love story– like stargazing with someone you care about.
Once Wurli is finished, WinMore will enter it into festivals across North America, and potentially even the world. From local festivals such as the Philadelphia Film Festival and Montclair Film Festival to larger, more well-known festivals such as Sundance, we believe that a good piece of work knows no bounds when it comes to where it can go.
About the Director:
Josh Winrow is a queer black writer, director, and producer who is inspired by the surrealism of modern society. The stories they write usually reflect on collective nostalgic experiences written from non-traditional character’s perspectives. They hope to challenge the status quo by showing the beautiful, contradictory absurdity that is life.
