John Thornton Young Achievers foundation

Tax deductible
Over the next few months I will be on a mission to fundraise for the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation, this charity was set up in memory of Lt John Thornton (RM) who died in Afghanistan on 30th March 2008. John was a part of the Air Training Corps where he graduated the Junior Leaders Course at the top of his class, this among other achievements led to earning his green beret and becoming an officer in the Royal Marines. John was an exceptional leader and loved by many, he has been described as "...a larger than life character who impressed all who met him..." All funds raised by me will go to the JTYAF and be used to help young people finance their opportunities to reach their goals.

The charity was founded in 2008 by Pete and Linda Thornton - John's parents.
More information about The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation: They support young people with financial bursaries and scholarships to help them achieve their goal and ambitions in life. They currently work with 21 youth organisations in Dorset and Wiltshire ranging from schools to musical groups, scouts, guides and Duke of Edinburgh groups.
