My name is Sarah, I'm 25 and the mom to the most beautiful 5 year old boy.
A few weeks before christmas I was told by my doctor that abnormal cells were found and I would need to have a biopsy. About a week after my biopsy the results came back and my worst fears were confirmed, the cells are precancerous and need to be removed immediately. Unfortunately this last year has been an emotional and financial rollercoaster, I went through a divorce and had to restart my son and I's life over from rock bottom. Needless to say it's been very difficult which is why im reaching out here.
I have health insurance through my current employer, however when I selected my plan I went with the one that had the most affordable monthly payment, which made my deductible pretty outrageous. (I've never had any serious medical conditions before this) To get the surgery I need I will have to pay my deductible upfront which is right at $2900.
I'm currently doing everything I can to earn the money on my own, working overtime and budgeting like crazy but im scared that my efforts wont be enough to raise the amount by the scheduled surgery date which is February 15, 2017. I was told by my doctor that he will not push it back any later than that day because it will turn into Cervical Cancer if I wait much longer.
I hate having to ask for help but this isnt just about me. I have a young child who depends solely on me and I couldnt ever imagine not being here to take care of him.
Thank you so much for taking the time to hear my story.
