Blue’s Recovery

On Friday February 23rd, our dog, Blue, had a freak accident while running in our backyard - he took a fall that caused severe spinal trauma and a ruptured disc left him without use of his back legs. Within 24 hours he has regained mobility in his right hind leg, but the left is still at 100% loss of function. Blue has been transferred to Maine Veterinary Medical Center in Scarborough where he is getting 24/7 care in the ICU and his progress is being assessed by their neurological team. On top of the uncertainty of the outcome and being without our best friend, fur child, and big brother, we are faced with a huge financial responsibility for his treatment and recovery. I never thought we would be in this position. If you know me, you know I don’t like to ask for help. We will do whatever it takes to bring our best friend home and are prepared for whatever long term care he may need. If you are able, any amount you can spare is so deeply appreciated. I can’t wait to see him outside with his babies and his chickens, his favorite place to be.
