Help Selina get her FIRST COMMERCIAL STUDIO SPACE

I am the Selina behind Selina Photography, established in 2007 at the ripe young age of 17. Ever since I locked in my business name 16 years ago, my biggest dream has been to have a commercial studio space.

Today is that day.

Well, technically March 1st, 2023 is that day! I have agreed to a lease agreement for the perfect space, by Village Green Shopping Centre in downtown Vernon, where infrastructure is booming. I will be signing a 3 year lease, and I can only imagine how much growth that area will see in that time, so it couldn't be a more perfect location for my business.

It is an older building that is having some renovations done to it to make the space mine, and this is where I need your help. The move-in date is only weeks away, January and February are my slower months because of the weather, and the cold snap for most of December wasn't great without a studio space, either. My husband is also scheduled for an intense surgery a week before my possession date so I will need to hire movers and won't have much help to get everything done. It is a 920 sq ft space that hasn't been touched with any upgrades or renovations in 20 years or more.

The monthly costs of a studio will be a new journey for me because up until now, I have had all of my studio setups in the basements of my houses. This has been my dream for too long to let it wait now when everything is lining up so perfectly, and where there is a will there is a way, so I WILL succeed at this! But I am going WAAAAAY outside of my comfort zone of strong-hyper-independent-outlook, and asking for help with this project.

Normally I would just work my ass off to do a ton of discounted shoots to make the extra money, but it is only a few short weeks away and those events take time and advertising to plan, and I also have to pay +30% of that income for taxes, so I really do need your help. I also know there are people who aren't local to attend my fundraiser photography events, but they still want to help. $5 could buy one of my paintbrushes. $30 could buy a big bucket of paint. $100 could help pay for the movers.

Altogether, I have a $4,000 goal.

I have worked every single day for the past 7 years to try and give back to my community, and this studio space will help me do that in ways you couldn't possibly understand until you see it. I currently run Selina's Goddesses: Women Wildly Supporting Women, an online FB group, and this space will allow me to host event nights to support this amazing community of women FACE TO FACE! It will allow me to host more fundraising events like Pets for Pets, my SPCA donation event, and SO MANY OTHER AMAZING THINGS! I cannot wait.
