World Scout Jamboree 2019!

I have been selected to be part of the UK Contigent Unit 52, a group of 36 scouts and explorers from East Sussex who will be attending the 24th World Scout Jamboree in North America in 2019.
This is a once in a lifetime experience that will have great impact on my life! It will involve camping in West Virginia along with many activities including the chance to meet thousands of other scouts from all over the world.
I will be following in the footsteps of my great, great grandfather who attended the last World Scout Jamboree before WW2 in The Netherlands, and my great grandpa who attended the first jamboree after WW2. Just like them I will get to meet scouts from all over the world and learn about our shared interests as well as the things which are different. The theme of the jamboree is to Unlock A New World- this will certainly be true for me, but the organisers hope that by meeting and working together the Scouts can contribute to the great issues of our time- especially climate change.
I will be working with other scouts and my family and friends to put on some great fundraising activities and events over the next 18 months, but I would also appreciate any extra help you may be able to give me to support me on my journey!
