World Coastal Rowing Championships fund

Donation protected
Following successful National Coastal (aka Offshore) Rowing Championships in Bantry at the beginning of September (where we secured 4 wins & a silver), Killorglin Rowing Club rowers are ready to take on the world.

We are delighted to announce that Killorglin Rowing Club will send two crews to World Coastal Championships in Oeires in Portugal from the 30th to the 2nd of October.

The crews are as follows:

Monika Dukarska will compete in the Women’s Solo (double world champion in this event), and

Rhiannon O’Donoghue, Zoe Hyde, Natalie Long, Molly Sullivan and Deirdre Leahy (nee O’Donoghue, bronze medal winner from 2007) will race the Women’s Quad in the championship.

Unfortunately, the trip is self-funded, and we would like to reach out to the rowing Community to support our athletes on their journey to the world championships.

The costs are in the region of €4,000

The breakdown of costs is as follows:
Flights €1,050
Accommodation €970
Boat Rental fee €600
Car rental €225
Registration fee €175
One pieces €370
Embroidery, food, miscellaneous e.g. covid tests €750

We are truly honoured to represent Killorglin and Ireland at a global stage and continue to be the most successful coastal Club in Ireland with 9 world medals to our name (women’s quad – 2007 (bronze); women’s solo 2008 (bronze), 2009 (gold), 2016 (gold), 2017 (silver)).

We would greatly appreciate your support on our journey to Oeiras and participation in the world coastal championships!
