Alberto Ortiz founded Work Train Fight in 2009 on his 25th birthday. After growing up in the South Bronx and being surrounded by domestic violence, Alberto decided to make it his life mission to make everyone around him stronger. That’s when WTF was created, a boxing fitness facility dedicated to empowering everyone by making them physically and mentally strong.
After ten years in business COVID-19 forced WTF to close their doors for the first time since its opening in 2009. Closing their doors did not only affect WTF and gym goers; staff members, trainers and independent trainers are now faced with financial burden that many of them did not anticipate. Our business has nearly lost 100% of revenue due to COVID-19.
We are asking our community to help us get through this startling “new norm”. Our first goal is to be able to alleviate some stress off of our trainers and staff by giving them a weekly allowance so that can personally survive this pandemic. Having a business in NYC means we are responsible for a hefty monthly rent payment, utilities, and other operating expenses. In order to for us to get through this hardship, we need the help of our community to ensure that we will still have Work Train Fight when this is over. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
