Woody Family Support Fund
On Monday November 2nd 2020, our dear friend Woody was last seen heading to North Bondi to go rock fishing, as he loved to do on his day off. But this time, he didn’t make it home. After an intensive search by friends, family and the NSW police, our greatest fear that he’d been swept off the rocks and drowned were confirmed when his body was found in the waters of Sydney Harbour on Monday the 9th of November.
Woody loved fishing and going on adventures. He had a huge, infectious smile where you couldn’t help but smile back at him, no matter what your mood. His passion for food, to cook and create was inspiring. It was his love of French cooking that originally brought him to his place of work, Bistro Papillon. After many years, the people here became his Aussie family and he loved being a part of it. Always happy, he was the ray of sunshine in gloomy times. He was the kindest and most gentle person – a one-of-a-kind you’d consider yourself lucky to meet in a lifetime.
Woody was only 32 years old and leaves behind his beautiful wife Tum, the love of his life who is completely heartbroken. Woody’s mother and younger brother live in Thailand and have been floored by this devastating news.
In Woody’s giving nature, it was his honour to be able to work hard and send money to his family to support them and care for his sick mum.
So we’re starting this page to raise donations to help support his wife and family, to be able to make a ceremony for his mother and family in Thailand possible, to celebrate his life. We appreciate anything you can give, thank you.
