Women's World Cup Wheelchair Rugby

Coming this December! Women's Cup in Paris, France!
And little old me has been invited to play there with the U.S. Women's Wheelchair Rugby Team! No kidding!
Only about 50 women in the U.S. play wheelchair rugby, and less than ten will be able to join this international competition, to be held in a gymnasium only a few meters away from the Eiffel Tower!
~
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity I certainly can't afford to miss, so I will do all I can to afford to go. Thankfully, the International Wheelchair Rugby Federation covers meals, housing & transport during the competition, so participants are required only to cover air fare & accomodations outside the days of the tournament. My bargain air fare is close to $1000 and $1500 accessible hotel/boarding.
Wheelchair rugby is one of the few mixed-team paralympic sports & women are weakly represented in it. Through this event, the IWRF endeavors to empower our practice & encourage other women to discover this sport.

I have been playing rugby two and a half years, and what it has done for my body & spirit is nothing short of miraculous. I am honored to join the scores of athletes who have surmounted disability to participate in this rewarding competition.
