Wolf Lake Airport Supporters

Dear Wolf Lake Airport Supporters,

Last year’s devastating wildfire thoroughly ravaged our beloved airstrip, once a vibrant destination for aviators and their families. The Wolf Lake airstrip has been a unique opportunity to fly into a (semi)remote grass strip with easy approaches and unmatched natural amenities. Lakeside access to fishing and hiking trails is a unique aviation experience in Southern Alberta. With your generous support, we aim to revive this gem of an airstrip from the ashes and rebuild it for sustained long-term use.

We aim to raise $13,000 in funding, which we can achieve with your generous donation. These funds will replace destroyed camping facilities such as picnic tables, a fire pit with a metal fire ring, a new outhouse and an emergency shelter with a wood stove.

Your contribution will also help us restore the airstrip itself with new windsocks, runway cone markers, signage, and re-seeding. It will also fund equipment rentals for some heavier maintenance to improve the runway surface conditions.

This GoFundme page has been established to facilitate contributions from the wider aviation community. Old school donations can also be made directly to the Drayton Valley Flying Club and earmarked for this Wolf Lake project.
