Urgent: Help my family evacuate from war in Gaza

My name is Maha Abu Shammala , the purpose of this fundraising campaign is to collect donations to support my family in Gaza.

My uncle Jamal Abu Shammala and his entire family suffered catastrophic conditions due to the war that has been going on for five months.

His family includes 12 members (father Jamal, mother Mona, and their children and grandchildren).

The father, Jamal Abu Shammala, is 65 years old.

They are suffering from the most catastrophic humanitarian conditions. Since October 7, they have been fleeing from the bombing.

He survived two attempts to bomb the house while they were in it, and the siege of tanks, and the fear, horror, hunger, and desert life on the Egyptian borders in tents.

We appeal to your active support to help me enable this family to survive and escape from the cruelty of war.

House bombing:

On the fourth day of the war, the family was exposed to the bombing of the house while they were inside it.

It was a very terrifying day, and they were all injured by bruises and suffocation due to the bombing.

They were finally able to escape despite the great suffocation, especially among children and the elderly, as everyone fled the house without being able to take anything from it.

The family lost their entire house and everything in it, as it was bombed again the next day.

The child Mona suffered a nervous shock following the direct bombing of the house, which led to her being unable to speak for several days.

The hell of displacement and tank siege:

The family was displaced to the central Gaza Strip amidst the bombing and extreme terror that afflicted them.

They arrived at a house there, and then they were displaced under the bombing to Khan Yunis, south of the Strip.

They stayed for 3 months, suffering from a lack of food, water, and clothing until tanks surprised them at dawn on Sunday 01/21/2024.

It surrounded the house they were in and began firing fire, shells, and incendiary phosphorus bombs throughout the night.

The fire entered the house and a fire broke out in it.

We cannot describe to you the horror of children, women and adults as well

A full night of terror, similar to horror movies, but they lived it in reality.

There was no rescuer, no paramedic, no hospital.

No one could reach the area where many neighbors were killed and they continued to bleed to death without anyone being able to save them.

They were able to escape the next day and, with the grace of God, were saved again!

Trying to survive and travel outside Gaza:

The family was surprised by the huge fees imposed by the Egyptian authorities on the travel of Gazans, as they requested fees through Hala Tourism Company, an official Egyptian company:

- $5000 USD for the large one.

- $2500 USD for the small one.

We need initially to raise a cost for parents' travel

Beauty and Mona for health reasons and for treatment

• Father Jamal (65 years old), a famous Palestinian artist who has been working in the field of fine art for 50 years.

• Fadi (21 years old), multimedia specialist.

Note: 5 months ago, in addition to losing everything, income also stopped for all family members and their projects were ruined.

All this family that lives together in these disastrous conditions, where there is no food, clean water, or treatment, is now living in tents in Rafah on the border of Egypt, in a very harsh desert atmosphere, after they used to enjoy their warm and elegant home.

Financial details:

The cost of coordination for travel through the Egypt crossing is $52,500 USD

Where 5000 USD is the largest.

2500 USD for the small one.

They are 9 senior individuals

And 3 young girls.

• The cost of travel and transportation from Gaza to Cairo is 2000 USD

• The cost of rehabilitation, renting an apartment in Egypt for the family for a year, and buying back clothes and necessities is 12,000 USD, for a total of $66,500USD.
