Just click below at the LIVE reading of your choice to receive a return email with your Zoom link to Within The Context of No Context (WTCONC):
To attend the live Zoom reading on, just email [email redacted] and request one of the following performances:
Thursday, November 12 7:30 PM reading
Friday, November 13 7:30 PM reading
Saturday, November 14 2 PM reading
(Running time = 75 minutes; all times EDT)
Admission to any of the three performances of this reading is free because it is more important than ever for us to consider the insights that George WS Trow offered forty years ago. The productions of our company, Knowledge Workings , draw upon our knowledge of the world and its very different people (including visionaries such as Trow) to create theatre that makes people laugh even as it illuminates the complexity of those topics on which we often talk past each other. Two years ago, we set out to create a company to fulfill this purpose presenting plays for audiences with more concern for essential communication than for eventual commercialization. And our sold-out Off-Broadway Equity Showcase run of Alms and our more recent innovative triumph on Zoom with Grudges show that there is an audience for this work.
Success, however, must include our actors and crew receiving financial support for their effort and expertise. That's why we ask you to donate to this fund when you plan to attend one of the readings of the abridged version of George WS Trow's famous and influential essay Within the Context of No Context , which is celebrating its 40th anniversary of publication in the New Yorker magazine.
(Buy the book from Grove Atlantic here to enjoy the full essay as well as a superb introduction by the late author)
Our voices for this set of readings on Zoom are John Clay , Quanda Johnson , Meghan Cox , and Aaron Long . These fine, dedicated actors will be the sole recipients of the funds raised through this Go Fund Me account; Knowledge Workings handles any other expenses of the production. We thank you for your past and continued support of Knowledge Workings' projects.
