El esposo amado de Luz y su compañero de más de 30 años, Ignacio Alonso Sierra, falleció ayer (8.26.2018), después de una batalla larga y difícil contra el cáncer. Alonso deja atrás a Luz, dos hijos, Sebastian y Andrew, y una gran comunidad de amigos y familiares que realmente lo adoraron.
Estos últimos años y meses han sido extremadamente difíciles para Luz y sus hijos, y ahora se enfrentan el dolor de perder al hombre que era la fundación de su familia. Creamos este GoFundMe para ayudarlos a seguir adelante; tanto para gastos conmemorativos como para gastos de vida durante este momento tan difícil.
Personalmente, conozco a Luz desde hace 8 años. Ella es una de las personas más positivas, generosas y cálidas que he conocido en mi vida. Siempre me sorprende lo profundamente generosa que es ella, especialmente cuando se trata de niños. Ella envía ropa y juguetes reciclados con regularidad a los pueblos de Colombia. Le da tanta alegría dar a los demás.
Por favor, refleje esa amorosa generosidad de nuevo en Luz y su familia en este momento de necesidad. Ella nunca preguntaría, pero tengo la bendición de hacerlo en su nombre, y sé que será tremendamente apreciado.

Luz's beloved husband and partner of over 30 years, Ignacio Alonso Sierra, passed away yesterday (8.26.2018), after a long and difficult battle against cancer. Alonso leaves behind a heartbroken Luz, two sons Sebastian and Andrew, and a large community of friends and family that truly adored him.
These past years and months have been extremely difficult for Luz and her sons, and now they stand in the grief of losing the man that was the rock of their family. We have created this GoFundMe to support them moving forward; for both memorial expenses as well as life expenses during this very difficult time.
Personally, I have known Luz for about 8 years. She is one of the most positive, generous and warm human beings I have ever known. It always amazes me how deeply generous she is, especially when it comes to children in particular. She regularly sends recycled clothing and toys to the villages back home in Colombia, much to the kids' delight. It gives her so much joy to give to others.
Please reflect that loving generosity back upon Luz and her family in this time of need. She would never ask, but I have their blessing to do so on their behalf, and I know it will be tremendously appreciated.
I will be responsible for gathering the funds, but all money will go directly to Luz. Thank you so much.
