Rimé Institute Wish Fulfilling Tree Project

Tibetan Buddhist Rime Institute is excited to announce our Wish Fulfilling Tree Project launching on 3rd December 2019. The project centres around cultivating an environment of peace and tranquillity for our new Land of Shambhala retreat centre in Thornton, Victoria, Australia. We seek to raise $10,000 for phase one of our project in this month of giving.
The Wish Fulfilling Tree represents long life, abundance and spiritual attainment. It is the tree depicted in refuge paintings that provides the seed for our ultimate wish of enlightenment to be fulfilled. As we begin to cultivate a place of peace and practice for our community, we believe that this a truly auspicious first project.
Phase one of the project consists of purchasing and planting 1000 trees by July 2020. Along with the purchase of trees, there are many other additional aids needed to nurture them and ensure their survival.
We have created this project to help raise money to make our vision a reality. The project will launch on 3rd of December coinciding with #GivingTuesday which is a global day of giving and will continue throughout the month of December.
When the Buddha taught, he always began with generosity. Why is that? It is because people experience happiness and pleasure in all aspects of giving – in thinking about it, in deciding to do it, in doing it, and in remembering the joy that it brought. Being generous connects people to their deepest values, and to their qualities of love, commitment, compassion, and caring. To give is truly to receive.
