WINTER WALK FOR MIND

Donation protected
Welcome to my Gofundme page :)

I have decided to participate in Ultra Challenge's London Winter Walk 2022 to raise money for the mental health charity Mind. This is taking place on Sunday 30th January and is a 26 mile (42 km) looped walk, starting & finishing at The Oval Cricket Ground in Vauxhall.

I know that a lot of my friends will be surprised to hear that I am doing this. This is is because I can barely walk 10 minutes without either A) complaining or B) getting a stitch. To the say the least walking, or any form of exercise for that matter, is not my thing.

BUT I am willing to do it to raise money for a charity that means a lot to me.

The last few years have been extremely tough for so many of us. Our lives have changed and times have been extremely difficult. Amongst the challenges that came with the Coronavirus, I have struggled with my mental health. I am proud to say that I am doing so much better now but it was a terrifying place to be in. It affected so many aspects of mine and my family’s lives. What makes it more scary is that I know I am not alone. 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England. Mental illness does not discriminate; it can affect anyone. And, as I have learnt, talking about it is not as easy as it sounds. The social stigma around mental health makes it so much harder to open up about. Having to fight an inner battle is terrifying and no one should have to go through their battles alone. No one should have to fake a smile or have to push their feelings down in fear of being judged by others.

Therefore, by raising money for Mind, more awareness will be spread and more people will get the help they need. Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.*

I am so beyond lucky to be surrounded by such supportive and caring family and friends. And I can’t describe how grateful I am for all the doctors and nurses ( and everyone in between!). Every single one of them deserves all the thanks in the world. They, along with the help from my family and friends, have been such a huge part of my recovery and I owe them so much. Without these people working nonstop to provide help, life would be a lot more scary. They work their butts off to help us so I am going to work my butt off to raise money in return!

You should never have to feel ashamed of what you are going through. Your feelings are valid and you have every right to feel whatever emotion you want.
There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.
Please donate whatever you can to this amazing charity :)
Thank you!!!!
BIG LOVE
