Winter Food Drive for Logar

Every year the village of De Nou in Logar, Afghanistan struggles during the winter time to provide itself with the basic necessities to live. This year has proven to be especially difficult with the negative impact COVID-19 has had on the country, to go along with the ongoing fighting between the Taliban and Afghan Security Forces. It is difficult for the villagers to travel for available work in Kabul because of the fighting and they can't rely upon selling and living off the crops they usually live off of because the harsh winter weather does not allow for them to grow much from November until March. To top this all off recent floods washed away much of the Summer harvest raised to feed them throughout winter. Although we are all going through difficult financial times during 2020 we have far more than many Afghans could even imagine. If we were to even raise a few thousand dollars for De Nou, hundreds of people would not deal with hunger and starvation for these trying winter months. All the money raised will go towards the purchasing of basic food items such as rice, wheat, flour and meat.
