Who Are We? 
Formed in 2010, the VUHS Commodore Parent Teacher Group (CPTG) is a group of parents, teachers, and administrators who support communication, family interaction and academics at VUHS
 
What We Do At VUHS:
Since 2012, over $25,000 has been raised by the CPTG to support activities including:

*  Enrichment Grant Programs
Awarded to support requests by teachers and staff, we've sponsored a variety of programs annually, including: 
-  Guest Speakers
-  Artists in Residence
-  MS MathCounts and Spelling Team support
-  T-Shirts for Academic Clubs including, Math Team, V-RED, Queer Straight Alliance |
-  Support a wide variety of Middle School activities, including Chili Cook-Off, supply purchases, 8th grade trip support
-  Mock DUI Crash
-  Walden-Ethiopian Teacher Exchange
-  Taiko Drummers
-  Social Studies Photo Project
-  Environmental Club Compost Project 

*  Staff Appreciation Events throughout the year !
 
*  Sponsor an annual SAT Boot Camp onsite at VUHS, including scholarships (look for information to sign up for the March 7, 2020 SAT Boot Camp!)

*  Annual donation to Project Graduation

*  Partially funding the  electronic sign for school

*  Providing refreshments for parent/teacher conferences

*  Annual educational outreach events and discussions

 
Mission Statement 
The CPTG mission is to encourage and support academic and enrichment programs, promote family involvement in the school, and enhance communication between families, students, teachers, administrators, and community members.

Support us and help us grow!  Come to meetings - The CPTG meets on the 4th Monday of each month from 6:30 - 8:00 in the VUHS library.
