Hi everybody,
It's the Brodmann family. As some of you may know, this past summer a tree fell on Caroline while we were trying to hammock one afternoon in Savannah. The tree hit her in the neck causing a break of her C6 vertebra. After two weeks in ICU, she was transferred to The Shepherd Center in Atlanta where she spent the next 5 months working on strength and recovery.
Shortly after arriving back to Savannah in December, Scotty and I had our wedding. And if things didn't already sound crazy enough for the Brodmanns, we got a puppy! Winnie is our 4 month old Labradoodle. We have big dreams for our fluff ball, and with your help we are hoping to make them our new reality. We are asking for your help to raise $35,000 in order to send Winnie to Comprehensive Pet Therapy in Atlanta where she will be trained as my service dog.
This will be an extensive process for Winnie. In order to become my Certified Service Dog she will have to train every day in Atlanta for 5-7 months. Once she completes her training she will be able to assist me in tasks such as opening and closing doors, picking up items off the ground, turning on and off lights, pushing elevator buttons, assisting in transfers, pulling my chair, and if any emergencies arise she will be trained to seek other humans for assistance.
Our friends and family have reached out about wanting to help us in this endeavor, and we have come to the decision that this is where we would like to ask you for your support. We know this is a big financial request, but we have decided it is the next best thing for our family. Having Winnie trained will allow me to be more independent in my every day life. We hope that you will consider joining us on this journey, and we ask for your prayers as we seek to raise $35,000 to cover the training cost.
