Williams Readmission Fund

Donation protected
In January of 2019, I was asked to take a leave of absence from Williams College because I failed 2 classes in the divisional 3 department, and incurred academic deficiencies. Divisional 3 classes fall under the discipline of math and science, and they are super rigorous for students like me who don't actually major in math or science, or have a past of performing poorly in those kinds of classes. (I was a solid C+ student in science for all of high school)

I worked hard in the Spring of 2019 by taking classes at City College to make up my deficiencies, and passed them with flying colors. In June, after countless job applications, I was rejected from and/or never heard back from high paying internships, and even simple minimum wage jobs; so I was essentially unemployed for most of the summer. I was happy to receive a re-admissions letter from Williams in August, however, I was immediately informed by the Office of Student Accounts that I would not be approved for re-admission until I pay off my previous due balance of 2900$, in full. I tried arranging a payment plan with the school, and even sought loan eligibility; but they urged me to pay off this balance or they will postpone my readmission until the next year.

I have to raise 2900$ or Williams will not allow me to return. I don't wish to delay my readmission to Williams any longer. I have worked too hard in my time off to have to wait to return, and I feel it is unethical to hold me back from continuing my studies simply because I cannot afford it. Additionally, my circumstances this summer have made it difficult for me to work any significant amount of that debt off. I don't usually like to be vulnerable and ask for help, but my education is super important to me, and I will fight tooth and nail for it. If there is any way you might be able to contribute to this, even in a small way, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you for reading my message.
