Will Sprouse is an unequivocal institution in the ultrarunning world and thoroughly epitomizes the definition of an ultrarunning legend. He is also a successful small-business owner, an experienced pilot, and most importantly, a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.

On Wednesday, November 25th, Will suffered a life-changing stroke which has left him unable to walk, or to even stand unassisted and his eyesight is very limited. This event will no doubt be life-changing for Will, and he may be unable to walk or run again. The Sprouses will be saddled with large medical expenses in the months to come.

Will is now starting the adjustment to his new way of life by starting physical therapy at the Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. As you can well imagine, this is only the beginning for both Will and his loving and dedicated wife, Carrie.

For years, Will has touched the lives and hearts of hundreds, if not thousands of people and fellow ultrarunners. If you've ever had the privilege to meet Will, you know what a genuine and wonderful man he is. His spirit, humility, and incredible accomplishments, finishing dozens of hundred-mile races, have inspired most, if not all, of us.

Only a few days after Will's stroke, Justin Hoffman (an ultrarunning friend of Will's and mine) reached out to me about starting this page to enable friends of Will and Carrie to more easily help them out, as many are undoubtedly wanting to do. Justin and I hope this makes it easier for you to leave donations, as well as kind and encouraging messages, for Will and Carrie. Justin and I would like to sincerely thank you in advance for donating whatever you can to help ease their burden.

Also, I want to personally thank Justin for his foresight in reaching out to me about starting this page and spearheading our effort to get the ball rolling. On behalf of both Will and Carrie, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, compassion, kindness, and generosity.
