Wild Rumpus Circus Flood Relief

Donation protected
Historic rainfall in Dane County, Wisconsin on Monday, August 20 caused the Black Earth Creek to overflow its banks, creating devastating floods in Mazomanie and other towns along Highway 14. Mars & Jacob's property was engulfed in flood waters. The basement filled with 8 feet of water, and seeped into the first floor of their house. The Rumpus Room, home to the Wild Rumpus Circus, just a few blocks away, also sustained minor flooding in the basement.

Now that flood waters have receded, Mars & Jacob are assessing the damage and figuring out how to rebuild their home and get their circus work back on track.

They need money to help with the following:
--Mars' and Jacob’s cars were both submerged and are totaled. They use these cars to get to Madison and other places to teach and perform. They will need to buy two new vehicles.
--The kitchen subfloor, cabinets, and dry wall have been damaged. A complete demolition of the kitchen has been necessary, and they will need to remodel and rebuild to get it functional again.
—The rest of the flooring on the ground level and some sections of drywall will also need to be replaced.
—The furnace, hot water heater and basement wiring were completely submerged and need to be replaced.

More rain is forecast, with the possibility for flash flooding.
