Who Am I Now? - Queer Indie Film

"New friends Erin and Alex, discover a mutual attraction that neither of them had ever felt before. While trying to navigate their feelings, Erin panics and refuses to admit there's anything between them. Now Alex must help Erin come to terms with the fact that she's gay, something she cannot admit."

I struggled with my sexuality and with who I was for years. I won’t say that I have it all completely figured out to this day, that would be a lie, but, I am at a point where I know who I am. I’m a storyteller, a wife, a mother, and a voice. I am already a wife, soon to be a mother and I tell stories every time I put words on a page, now it’s time for me to be a voice. That is my vision for this film. That is what I hope this story can accomplish.

I wrote Alex and Erin when I was struggling with my identity, and as I grew more confident and understood things better, so did they. I was able to give them the happy ending that I so desperately craved, and in turn, was granted. I want to share this with other people who are struggling. I know that my experience is not unique, I know that people struggle and are in pain, and are confused, and I want to share my story in hopes of giving them a bit of peace and piece of mind. I want to show them that they too, after living this challenging life, can have a happy ending. That it can get better. These people don’t necessarily need to be gay or queer, they could be struggling with any different crisis under the sun, the overarching theme of this story is that you need to trust yourself, believe in yourself and let yourself succeed.

I may not be the only person in the world capable of sharing this type of story, but I am the only one capable of sharing my story.  The LGBTQ+ community is not appropriately represented in the media and I believe that this film will resonate with members of the community and will be able to see themselves accurately portrayed due to my experiences.

With your help and generous donation I believe that this story can help someone who is struggling. I wrote this script to help myself get through my broken adolescence because I was alone and had nobody else to talk to. I want this film to be the starting point for someone who may be in the same position. I want them to watch these characters, connect and see themselves, and realize that who they are is okay, and who they are is exactly who they are supposed to be.

All donations received will be going directly to the production of this film.
