Our Story
The Gattons is an infant school based in Burgess Hill. We have been deeply affected by Govenment cuts and, as a result, we are only just managing to finance the bare miniumum in our attempts to continue to provide the children with the rich and exciting curriculum that we do. We are an outstanding school and take pride in ensuring the children receive the education that they deserve.
Currently our classes all have very old, outdated interactive whiteboards which our teachers use to deliver the curriculum to the children every day. They are also used by the children daily, helping them to apply their knowledge and skills in all curriculum areas including art, literacy and maths.
The condition of the screens on our current whitebaords is unacceptable and they are no longer of good enough quality for our children. Work and presentations are becoming increasingly difficult to see. We are in urgent need of replacing them in all of our classrooms before they break altogether and we are left with nothing.
The new versions of interactive whiteboards are much more advanced and the children will gain a lot more from having them in the classroom. Their work will be clear and vibrant; they will be able to work in groups as the screens accept multi-users (as opposed to one person at a time on our current boards); There will be a greater variety of software linked to these boards which will enhance the children's learning.
The Cost
We have been fortunate enough to be able to finance the replacement of one board but at £2145 each we cannot afford to replace them in the eight remaining classrooms.
How You Can Help
In order to help us fund more replacement whiteboards, we are appealing to you. Please support our school and the children's education and donate what you can to support this cause. Even if you can only spare £1, it will put us £1 closer to our target. If you can't contribute financially then we would love it if you could simply promote the campaign by sharing it on Facebook, Twitter and via email.
Any extra funds we raise will go towards another big project we are trying to finance which is the replacement of our adventure equipment on our field. Thank you for your support.
