White Socks Fund to Thank Health Care Workers

Donation protected
Our beloved Gordon Quinn, wearer of the white socks, is back! After a several week battle  with COVID-19, Gordon is out of the ICU and making plans to move to a rehab facility in the next week. He has even made an appearance on Facebook. We are all so incredibly grateful to the medical staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital who helped him in this battle and kept his wife Meg so closely informed every step of the way.

Meg marvels at the commitment of the NMH hospital staff and has expressed a desire to help support those at the hospital that are the most economically vulnerable. So, to show our thanks, we have partnered with SEIU , the health care union that represents those workers, to provide meals for them on the front lines. Your donation will fund meals for two specific groups of Chicago health care workers and patients:

1.  Meals for front line staff at NMH
2.  Meals for staff and patients at Roseland hospital on the south side.  They lost their kitchen as a result of their exposure and are having to order meals for their staff and patients.

And while you're at it, those staff at Northwestern could use your help in securing hazard pay for this dangerous and essential work they are doing.  Click on this Facebook post . Watch the video. Click to send the email  to Northwestern Hospital’s CEO asking they provide personal protective equipment and hazard pay to frontline hospital workers. Then share the post.
