Help Whit Recover (Grizzly Bear Attack)
Donation protected
John Avery Whittaker, our Livestock Guardian Dog, was viciously attacked by a brown bear in our back yard here in King Salmon, Alaska on November 19th. He did his job of protecting his family and territory. The brown bear was relentlessly attacking him, pinned him down, and was dragging and shaking him. Callie our french mastiff was attacking the bear the entire time and it was unphased. The bear was dispatched from the balcony with a 9mm. (Quickest gun to grab) Whit suffered puncture wounds from the bear and a bullet through the bear to his paw. He will need lots of extra care in Anchorage but the surgeon believes that He will heal well. We are so pleased that his paw can be saved! He is an excellent guardian to our family and we would love some help for Whit. Thank you to everyone!
