Whisker Walk Team North Carolina 2020

Fizo is walking in Whisker Walk 2020 for Big East Akita Rescue for the third year! Last year he walked with his best friend, Cora, but this year Cora will be walking with us from the rainbow bridge.  Once again we are walking for all the dogs being dumped by their irresponsible breeders. We are walking for the love of the breed and for those that have no voice!

Two years ago a irresponsible breeder dumped 9 of his Akita’s at a high kill shelter here in Franklinton, NC. BEAR  stepped up for these kids. Unfortunately one could not be saved… Maude’s breeder continued to breed her with severe temperament issues. The kindest thing we could do was set her free. So we walk for Maude and the rest of the Akitas who have no voice. We walk for the Akitas whose irresponsible breeders just abandon them when they are no longer of use to them. We walk for the Akitas and their puppies who are kept in horrible living conditions with no vet care or human kindness.  

Whisker Walk and Rescue are so dear to our hearts because Cora’s breeder decided to get out of the breed due to “life changes” and if they couldn’t find a home she was going to be PTS… this love deserves so much more… so We will walk with Cora in our hearts,  for her friends and to give them the chance she was given..
