Whisker walk Team Nanaki 2020

This is Nanaki. He is such a lovey boy who has been spoiled his whole life, first by his breeder, and then by me. I got him specifically to be an agility dog. He had other plans though and gave me quite a tough time training him! He convinced me to try other sports with him because agility was not his favorite thing. We tried tons of other things including barn hunt, obedience, and rally. He loves working with me, and especially loves hunting those rats the most out of all the things we do together. Now that we’ve tried other things, he is starting to like agility more than he did before which is a bonus for me! We are having a lot of fun at various trials. He’s also a hiker extraordinaire and loves playing with his sister, Aerith, and his best friends Yuri and Gwyn. Now Nanaki wants to try his paw at being a Whisker Walker for Big East Akita Rescue.  

Not every akita is as lucky as Nanaki, and some are still looking for their forever homes. My first dog was a rescue and I have a soft spot in my heart for rescue dogs. That’s why we want to participate in our second Whisker Walk. It should be a lot of fun and we are going to have a blast!
