Wheels for Will

As some of you know, our son William has a severe seizure disorder called Dravet Syndrome that affects his development and mobility. We have been fine lifting William into our minivan until now, but that is becoming more of a strain as he continues to grow. Having a wheelchair van with a lift would not only accommodate William, his larger wheelchair, his service dog, and the rest of our family, but it would also eliminate the need to lift and maneuver William and his wheelchair to and from the vehicle. With the higher profile van, we also need to enlarge our garage door (William is very sensitive to extreme temperatures, which often trigger seizures, and parking in the garage helps regulate the temperature). The total cost of the van is just under $80,000, and the garage door modification is about $10,000.
Between savings and other funding we have set aside about $25,000 for this purpose. We have explored loans and other options to make up the difference, but friends and family have also encouraged us to reach out to the community for help.  We would really appreciate any assistance you may want to give in this endeavor, but please do not feel obligated or pressured in any way.
