Wheels for Quincy

Meet Quincy - a four-year-old, curly-haired beauty with a smile and attitude that makes people fall in love from the moment they meet her.  When she was four months old, we found out she was born with an extremely rare genetic disorder called Lissencephaly, which has left her non-ambulatory and in need of a wheelchair.  

Quincy has endured a history of seizures, surgeries (both major and minor), and countless visits to doctors and specialists.


As the second of four children, she is a very important sister to her six-year-old brother Tucker and role model to Sam and Molly, her two-year old twin brother and sister.

While Quincy's condition is debilitating, it's not life-threatening and we look forward to many years of her gracing our family.

We have been very fortunate to find people and programs that have helped Quincy have a comfortable and happy life.  One challenge we have yet to solve is her transportation.  

As she grows (and grows and grows), it becomes increasingly difficult to lift her in and out of a car seat - not to mention loading and unloading her wheelchair by hand on every trip.  

We are looking to upgrade our transportation by buying and converting a Sprinter van to hold our entire family and help Quincy continue to participate in normal activities with the rest of us.

In the process of looking for a van, we (again, very fortuitously) ran across friends who were selling theirs.  It is literally the perfect vehicle for Quincy!

Our friends have been kind enough to offer it to us for a very generous price and we are looking to raise the needed funds to purchase the vehicle and then outfit it with a wheelchair conversion suitable for Quincy's safety and comfort.
